Overview

In 1992, the Polytechnic of East London became the University of East London. Today, the university has over 23,000 students from 120 countries. The university prides itself on welcoming students from a wide variety of cultural, social, religious and ethnic backgrounds, creating a vibrant and multicultural student community.
The university is proud of its teaching quality and its innovative methods of learning which focus on students and enhance their employability. It is rated among the top 10 modern universities for research, and the university’s professors and researchers are engaged in work of national and international importance across a wide range of disciplines.
The campuses at Docklands and Stratford are located in East London, close to the major financial centre of Canary Wharf and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics site.
The university is one of the top universities in the UK for investment per student in facilities. The impressive and modern Docklands campus was opened in 2000 and it provides outstanding teaching and learning facilities. In addition, many parts of the Stratford campus have seen extensive refurbishments in recent years.
Programmes in the School of Architecture and the Visual Arts; the Royal Docks Business School; the School of Computing, Information Technology and Engineering, and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences are taught at the Docklands campus. Programmes in the CASS School of Education, School of Health and Bioscience, School of Law and School of Psychology are taught at the Stratford campus.

Other Routes to a Degree

Applicants who do not quite meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate programme at UEL can be considered for an Extended degree programme or an International Foundation Programme specifically for Business degrees. The Extended degree incorporates a preliminary foundation year and the standard three year programme to provide students with the necessary skills to complete their degree programme.
