Overview

Queen Mary is a part of the University of London. The college has more than 15,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, including 5,000 international students, in over 20 departments covering Business and Economics, Sciences, Law, Medicine & Dentistry, the Arts, and Social Sciences.
Queen Mary is the third largest college of the University of London and one of the few in London with a fully integrated teaching, research and residential campus. Our unique setting gives students the benefits both of a secure campus environment and access to the countless academic and social opportunities of London – the education capital of the world.
Flanked by Canary Wharf, the City of London and the 2012 Olympics site, the College is located in a bustling district in the East of London. Central London is only ten minutes away and the College has excellent transport links both by rail and bus. The East of London is ideal for student’s who have an interest in art, music, fashion, food, sport and culture and its proximity to central London means life as a Queen Mary student will never be boring. Students really do get the best of both worlds’ having a campus environment with all the amenities of London life on their doorstep.

Different courses have different entry requirements and they are listed in the respective courses/subjects found in the above links.
Students applying for Medicine and Dentistry at undergraduate level have to take the UKCAT test as part of their application. Also, STPM and University Foundation Programmes (UFP) qualifications are not recognised by all departments and are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Students (applying for postgraduate programmes) studying on a GPA system should look to achieve a minimum of 3.0 for consideration.
Accommodation

With over 2000 en suite bedrooms on the main College campus, first year undergraduate students, and those studying postgraduate courses, have the opportunity to settle into university life from a secure and safe environment less than two minutes walk from their classrooms. Students studying Medicine or Dentistry have the option of living on the main campus at Mile End or in Whitechapel, behind the Medical school. There is also the opportunity for students to live in off-campus accommodation situated in Stepney Green, 5 minutes from both the Mile End and Whitechapel campuses.
Students can also apply to live in University of London intercollegiate accommodation in Central London alongside students from UCL, King’s College and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
For 2010/11 academic year, the costs range from £66.15 to £117.95 per week depending on the location of the halls and the type of rooms (e.g. twin shared bathroom, standard single shared bathroom, single en suite own bathroom).

Other Routes
to a Degree

For students who do not meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree at Queen Mary, they can do the foundation course at the university from the following foundation programmes:
